U9/10 Development Squad
Recruiting players now. The next step up from U7/8, building on first touches and confidence with sharper technical work, more game-realistic practices and the same monthly games and feedback that make up a proper development plan.
Weekly Training
Vernon Road, PE25 2QS
Competitive matches against grassroots teams.
Individual feedback every 6 weeks to track progress.
Perfect for extra development beyond team training.
Build skills, confidence and a winning mentality.
The U9/10 Development Squad builds on the foundations laid at U7/8, sitting alongside grassroots football, not instead of it. Sessions sharpen ball control and first touch under more game-realistic pressure, small-sided games raise the tempo, and every player keeps an Individual Development Plan (IDP) updated to track real progress, all without the pressure of a weekly fixture.
A look at a typical U9/10 session
Jack Walton, Founder & Head Coach
Jack’s football journey started on the grassroots pitches of Skegness, before taking him to Manchester to study Football Coaching & Management and into coaching roles across the UK, North America and Europe. He’s coached with Liverpool FC’s International Academy, managed a university futsal programme, and worked with UEFA-licensed coaches developing young players from Spain and Portugal.
Josh
Josh has been with us from the beginning of our journey. From his previous coaching experience based in Manchester, he now works locally for Boston United F.C. Josh has been a core member of our team and can be seen working with some of the older children in our programmes bringing a more tactical approach to his coaching.

Fantastic, kind coaches who go the extra mile — Jack and the team have brought on my grandson’s confidence no end. He’s not shy to try new things anymore.
Would 100% recommend JCSS for any level player. Our lad has come on leaps and bounds since day one, now training in Jack’s invite-only sessions.
My son just finished the 3-day camp and loved every minute, even the stormy weather didn’t put him off. He learnt new skills and loved every second
JCSS has been a huge football opener for our son, his confidence has grown and the skills he’s learnt are showing in his own game. Jack and his team are true professionals.
Jack’s Community Soccer School doesn’t just build better players, they build character, discipline and teamwork. An incredible camp with high-level coaching throughout.
We can’t recommend Jack’s Community Soccer School highly enough. Jack and his whole team are friendly, encouraging, patient and brilliant with my son.
Fantastic, kind coaches who go the extra mile and have brought on my son’s confidence no end. Best of all, he counts down the days till his next practice!
Jack and all at JCSS are brillian, my 12 year old has been in the development programme for over a year and has learnt so much. Can’t recommend enough
A few quick questions parents ask
Does my child need to already play for a grassroots team?
No, Development Squads is open to any player in the right age band, playing for a grassroots team isn’t a requirement to join.
What happens if my child moves up an age band mid-season?
Players finish out the season in their current age band, then move up to the next one at the start of the following season.
Is there a minimum term for the £20 a month, or can I cancel anytime?
No minimum term, cancel anytime. It’s billed monthly, so you’re still responsible for the month you’re currently in.
Can I bring a sibling along to watch?
Of course, we actively encourage it. Siblings are welcome to watch pitchside with a parent or carer.
What happens if it's raining, or a session can't go ahead?
It’s rare, but if a session can’t go ahead because of the weather, we reschedule and let parents know as early as possible.
